In percentage mode, each row's weight is worked out from the total batch weight automatically. You can enter an oil's amount by weight or by volume - volume (ml/l) assumes 1ml ≈ 1g, so weighing is more accurate.
Set this to whatever total you're aiming for (from a mold, a bar count, wherever it came from) and the progress bar in Your Batch fills up as you add oils - it accounts for the water and lye too, not just the oils, since that's what actually goes in the mold.
Beginners: leave this at the default 38%. Experienced soapers often reduce it to 32-33%.
Typical usage is 3-4% of oil weight - always check your supplier's rate and any IFRA limit.
"One" shows the picked oil's own numbers. "All" shows your recipe's running totals, and updates as you add oils.
Add a price to each oil below (its price unit matches whatever weight or volume unit you're measuring that oil in). Add lye and fragrance prices too for the full picture. Nothing here is saved anywhere except in a recipe file you download.
Each oil can be priced per kg/lb, or as a pack price. For ml/l pack sizes, we assume 1ml ≈ 1g - close enough for costing, not exact. Target margin is the percentage of the retail price that's profit (not a markup on cost) - e.g. 60% margin on a £2 cost suggests a £5 retail price.
