You may not copy, scrape, redistribute, or commercially exploit this site's content or oil database, in whole or in part, without our express written permission. You may not incorporate it into another calculator, website, app, or publication, whether free or paid.

What you're free to do

The calculator itself is free to use for personal and commercial soap making. Specifically, you may:

Use the calculator to build, price, and print your own recipes, including recipes for soap you intend to sell.
Print, save, or export the Recipe Summary page (including as a PDF or JSON file) for your own records.
Share a Recipe Summary you've generated with other people for their personal use - for example, printing a copy for a friend, or posting a recipe in a soap-making forum.

What you may not do, without our permission, is redistribute the site's own content, design, or oil database independently of a recipe you've actually built with it - for example, republishing our oil data as your own reference chart, or copying the site's layout and text for another project.

No warranty

The calculations, oil data, INCI names, and suggested retail pricing on this site are provided as a guide, not a guarantee. SAP values in particular vary by a few percent between published sources industry-wide, and we've been upfront about our own confidence level on the oils where we're least certain. Always cross-check an unfamiliar oil against a second source, weigh your own lye, and follow proper lye safety practice. We're not liable for the outcome of a batch made using figures from this site.

If you're selling soap, the INCI label generator on this site produces a draft ingredient list to work from - it is not a substitute for checking your actual legal labelling and cosmetic safety obligations in whatever country you sell in.
